Clark County Bussing Issues

I have 4 children all of them attended school in Clark County( Las Vegas-Henderson) In the years my children have gone to school on the bussing system it has drastically changed. I have been fighting with the School District bus system for the past 4 years while my Daughter has been in high school at Shadow Ridge. When my Daughter first started 9 th grade my Son was in 11 th grade they both would walk to the bus stop get on the bus no problem. By the end of the year she started having problems getting let I. The bus to come home mind you my son rode the same bus and was never questioned. Her 10 th grade year they told us they had a new system and that some children would have to ride the Public Transportation Bus, the Cat bus is what they call it here??Doesn’t make much sense when the years before COVID they had purchased brand new busses for Clark County schools.Why all of a sudden would we be having our children riding the public busses to school when we have plenty of busses and drivers? Why well during COVID they stopped slim school service so the bus drivers were laid off when . When Covid ended they never got back to normal service yet our tax dollars are still being spent on them and now you have decided to also pay out the Public transportation busses to do a job we are already paying them to do? What’s worse is my daughter at 14 years old riding a public bus that picks her up further then her school bus stop, the dangerous time of being out and on busy streets to get to the bus stop at 6 am. It’s dark outside here and there are many criminal sex offenders riding these busses? Why is it they are doing this! This is absolutely not ok? They made it to where my son could ride the school bus but my daughter couldn’t?? I questioned them at every level they take no responsibility and have no answers??? Tell me why my daughter couldn’t t ride but my son could same address but they said my daughter didn’t get to ride the school bus but my older bigger son could? Same house … no answers no accountability, and it gets worse they are implementing this plan all over our city and parents don’t even see it coming. They cannot make our children ride public busses. It school busses with dangerous people, in far away bus stops not close to these student home and often on dangerous streets. What is going on here. I had to completely change my hours to make sure my child can get to school safely by me? Why is the district spending our money in busses they aren’t using and then spending more money on public buses and putting our kids in unsafe scenarios!! Not acceptable
