Flood insurance in Lockwood Nevada

I have to pay almost $2000 a year for flood insurance because my home is in a designated flood zone that has never flooded since the community was first build in the 1950s. I dont think anyone in the Lockwood community should be paying for this, and FEMA needs to resurvey the area. It should NOT be a flood zone. I will be talking to the governor about this issue as soon as possible. We are paying this for no reason, greed is the only influence I see here!
