Foster care

Foster care needs reform. Foster care needs to be truly in the best interest of the children and federal timelines should be adhered to. Caseworkers and managers and supervisors should not be able to use their positions unilaterally to seek revenge against families or foster families. And accountability and new leadership at the top is critical. Social workers need more real support as do foster families, bio families, kids in care and others involved in the system. We need to bring back allowing people to license to adopt knowing that those people will often be waiting a while but then will be available for a placement option if and when children become available and free for adoption.
