Housing

I have lived in Southern Nevada since 1989, and in Pahrump since 2007. I have always rented. I am an 80 year old, childless widow who lives on Social Security. I also have a side gig. I feel my income leaves me better off than most in my position. However, due to rising housing costs, four years ago I bought an RV so I wouldn’t have to be a roommate. That lifestyle is not for me. As an avid gardener, I have always left my rental better than it was when I moved in. My landlord’s loved me. So now I am in a small RV park where I have a lovely space for my gardens and my dog. But all is not Paradise. Some of my neighbors are strange. Don’t get me wrong. I am not afraid, just feel like I have no privacy. i would love to buy a piece of land to permanently live on in my RV. However, the codes in Nye County and according to my research, all of Nevada prohibit that. Our County Commissioners continue to support this rule, and when I ask why, I get crickets. For the first time in my life I feel like a second class citizen.
