Improve education

Every graduate of Nevada high schools should be equipped with the skills and practical experience that they need to thrive economically and socially. The model of education that currently exists for most students is based on seat time instead of skill development, is one-size fits all instead of tailored to personal interests and aptitudes, puts students in a passive role where they're expected to sit quietly and receive information rather than contribute actively towards something meaningful. Education is important to me for many reasons. I see it as essential to Nevada's economic and societal future. I see it as an investment in human potential. Through various roles as a student, a teacher, an administrator, a parent and a volunteer, I've become very passionate about education's value.
