Northern Nevada badly needs better road systems in an around Reno/Sparks and the Tahoe Regional Industrial Park. The Mayor of Sparks promoted a by-pass road from Spanish Springs connecting to USA parkway but suggested it be funded with a toll and that it be only a 2 lane road. Opposition was strong from those who disliked the 2 lane toll format and from those who don't want growth or housing areas impacted by such a road. The state, the cities of Reno, and Sparks need to get behind this because the entire area is dramatically impacted by traffic congestion. Their first task should be to undertake an education and marketing campaign to convince community members that such a road would greatly relieve the traffic problems and reduce accidents.
