Nevada Education - Gap between budget and results

From "Welcome to The Nevada Forum!"

Go to the project

Nevada has increased its per-student spending repeatedly over the past 6 years - which on the surface, sounds like a good thing. More money per student must lead to positive change, right? Except the results are not there. How? How do we keep dumping more money into our education systems without seeing our schools actually improve? Misallocation of funds. Lack of accountability. Lack of spending transparency. Restricted teacher training resources. Nevada's educational system requires a two pronged approach: a transparent budgetary overhaul to ensure funds are being allocated in ways that will effectively improve student outcomes, and an operational overhaul focused on developing our teachers and holding schools and their staff realistically accountable to student performance.
