Population density control

I moved away from California to get away from California, the prevailing mentality, and the politics. AND the overpopulation. When I came here for fun and recreation, I liked Reno. When I finally had occasion to move here, to Virginia City, Reno was tolerable. That was only ten years ago. Now, I try to avoid going anywhere north down the hill due to the incessant development, traffic, and, if you will, simply the bad vibe. I do wish the powers-that-be would stop being so 'friendly' (hint-hint) with the developers. Money shouldn't be so damned important that (others') quality of life is tossed to wind. I know I'm likely wasting my breath, but I would hope this is a call to conscience.
