We need term limits on city officials that are over a certain age. Once these people are in the middle 70's or 80's they should not be allowed to make judgements that are critical to our communities. Especially when they are showing signs of mental health issues like dementia.

you're thinking too small. Age shouldn't be a limit. I would want Ron Paul to be president. He's in his 80's. People wish to be the voice of a generation. Let the be the voice of one (1) generation. A generation is roughly twenty five (25) years. Combined between house, assembly, senate, they have the ability to represent one generation regardless of age. If they want to continue on in the hierarchy, they need some separation of at least ten (10) years before reentering the political field.
