Trust between citizens and state

If Nevada could solve one big problem, it would be rebuilding trust between people and the systems that make decisions affecting their lives. Too often, decisions about growth, funding, and public services are made without meaningful community input, clear accountability, or follow-through. This matters to me because I’ve lived on both sides of these systems. As someone who grew up feeling shut out of opportunity, and as a professional who has worked inside government helping communities navigate complex processes. I’ve seen how good intentions fail when transparency is missing, when voices aren’t heard early, and when public dollars aren’t tied to real outcomes. When people don’t trust how decisions are made, even well-funded projects fall short. But when government listens, explains the “why,” and measures impact, communities thrive. That’s the kind of Nevada I believe we can build, one where people are partners in progress, not spectators.
