Water recycling and conservation can’t supply current and future needs. It’s time for costal desalination plants and water pipelines. It won’t be cheaper but it beats going dry. Until we get them we should stop building new houses and increasing the population needing water. The federal government needs to step in by declaring a water emergency for states relying on the Colorada river and fastracking the need infrastructure now!

Clark County has one of the best water recycling systems in the world. Because of it, Nevada only uses a fraction of the 3% of the Colorado River water that’s allocated to our state. While I agree we should either build desalinization plants or pump water in from the Missouri River, the water issue isn’t severe enough to make us stop building
