Water vs development
From "Welcome to The Nevada Forum!"
Go to the project
As climate change makes our water resources more volatile we need to be thinking about development vs water. We are the driest state in the us and yet many of our primary industries are major water consumers. We are already witnessing the collapse of walker lake as use and recharge remain out of balance. Mining and data center will continue to apply major pressure to this vital resource to which few law makers are taking seriously. We live in the desert with no water access we will not thrive. Economic development must be limited by water availability and more conversations about diversifying development to industries that arnt so heavily reliant on water use is essential to nevadas long term success.
